The famous Italian Fashion designer, Alessandro Michele from Gucci set the stage on fire at the Milan Fashion Week 2018 with mock surgical operating room display and models carrying replicas of their own heads on the Gucci catwalk. The show was completely eerie and bizarre and the Italian designer justified the surgical room as it resembles the surgical precision of his approach to designing. But the important aspect is even though show is bizarre, the fake heads are weirdly accurate along with the eerie expressions of the models.
Gucci is always known to come up something new and innovative right from their elaborate runaways, out of the world concepts, but this time at Milan the Italian designer took it to the next level with baby dragons, iguanas and a creepy surgical room. According to the official Twitter tweets from Gucci, the setting largely resonates with the fact of how a designer works by cutting, splicing and recreating fabrics to come up with an out-of-the world design. And true to the fact the setting resembled an operation room with a waiting room atmosphere, PVC walls LED lamps and fire doors.
The models who walked the ramp translated that theme into much more original with their creepy outlook and expressions. For a moment, model appeared to be normal in a pink party dress, but only upon closer look can you find out that she’s covered in a Gucci body bag and even had a weird third eye. Another fuzzy moment that caught the attention of the audience is the sight of a man wearing a long black skirt and a jacket covered completely with crystals and also carrying a baby dragon in his hands. And only upon closer look can you it was made in plastic or else it looked so real.
There was a total of around 90 looks that stunned the audience with lot of costumes and concept came with a combination of Japanese, Mid-eastern cultures, Indian and some were also inspired from New York City. Since recently Gucci has teamed up with the MLB, you can also witness some looks comprising the Yankees gear as well.
As everything is happening quickly as the show comprised of a total of 90 looks, it was really hard to notice all the finer details in every look. And with the ones we could, we were able to identify that most of the looks had the lots of Gucci pieces somewhere in every look. And to the joy of MLB fans, there were ready-to-wear dresses with logos of the famous MLB teams like the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants etc. Overall the Autumn Winter 2018 collection by Gucci at the Milan Fashion week was certainly a day to remember and the brilliance of the Italian Designer was again at display.
