The Spring Summer 2018 Louis Vuitton Men’s collection presented by Kim Jones took us along with him towards a splendid journey along the pacific islands. During this hot summer season in Paris, the audience were delighted with models walking with exotic and sensual clothing. Such was the concept and the designs that you were instantly transported to a world of beaches. The Palais-Royal setting and all those aquatic effects along with the outfits including scuba diving, surfing gear, aloha shirts, printed variations and all added to the theme.
According to the British designer, the inspiration for this island and beaches concept was derived after he read the book named “The Atlas of Remote Islands: Fifty Islands I Have Not Visited and Never Will”. And reading the book made him actually feel he was living in one of these islands. This idea of traveling to various places and getting acquainted with different cultures and people sparked this concept of bringing into life the exotic beach vacations. A total of 42 outfits were presented to the audience. And what’s more the show was presented with Drake launching his new single, Signs to the audience. You cannot expect a perfect start to the even than that.
For this collection, the British designer said that he selected most of the pacific islands including Hawaii, Easter islands and islands from New Zealand and imbibed those cultures into his outfits. And most of the suits and pants showcased by the models were mostly in blue to depict the ocean and some with earth tones to resonate the beach. Models causally waked the ramp with super cool Aloha shirts and models sporting wet hair as if just coming out of a dip in the ocean or sun-kissed faces, wild travellers and stylish surfers are some of the attractions in the Spring Summer 2018 Louis Vuitton Men’s collection.
Every outfit presented in the show featured something that is related to travel, beaches or the ocean. And like most of the fashion collections presented elsewhere, most of the dresses that are presented that cannot be worn outside as your regular outfit. But according to Kim Jones, most of the outfits were designed to provide that authenticity, so that anyone can walk into a store and get a collection that suits his lifestyle. And overall, Kim Jones enthralled the audience with his wonderful beach wear collections and certainly created an Hawaiian mood out here in Paris.
