Yong Foo Elite was originally existed as a private club only for registered members, but now it has been made open to public and was turned into a beautiful Shanghainese restaurant. Located inside an exotic villa on the YongFu road, the building was previously used as the office of the British Consulate. Even though it is open to public, still many think as it is a member’s only restaurant.

The front side of the restaurant houses a beautiful garden and in the evening it is lit by beautiful candles to provide for a romantic setting. You can also choose for the garden seating and the Yong Foo Elite is definitely one of the best restaurant with a great natural setting. The inside of the club comes with an elegant design with walls adorned with flowery wallpaper designs.

The Chinese cuisine at Yong Foo Elite is outstanding, but it’s just not the food that make this place special. People who visit Shanghai also visit this restaurant to look at how the elite and the rich lived during the glory days of the 1920s in Shanghai.

The membership costs were very much in the higher range when the club was run only for members, and even though it has been opened to the public, the rates still haven’t come down. But hence you can see only hi-profile and people with heavier wallets visit the restaurant.

YongFoo Elite is renowned for providing some of the best Shanghai cuisine that combines both traditional and unique taste. Chef Zhou Tielong is an expert in combining both the ancient cooking style with the use of home-made sauces and modern cooking styles to provide complete transformation from the regular Shanghai cuisine.
