Waku Ghin is located on the exotic Marina Bay Sands and the brainchild and Celebrity Chef Tetsuya Wakuda’s eight-course degustation menu can promise you to be one the best meals you can have in Singapore. And the most interesting aspect is that the diner only handles 25-30 guests at a time and hence you can be guaranteed for an exclusive dining experience.

 

Waku Ghin in Japanese means “Waku-Arise” and “Ghin-Silver” and as the name suggests, you can see striking silver color throughout the interior of this huge 8000 sq. ft restaurant that also includes a private bar, 3 intimate cocoon rooms along with the main dining hall. Each of the private rooms comes with its own Chef who will bring you some authentic and delicious cuisine to your table that is cooked right in front of you.

 

Some of the signature dishes included the Marinated Botan Shrimp with Sea Urchin along with Wagyu and Wasabi and citrus soy etc. Once you are done with your main course at you private cocoon, you can move to the main dining hall to enjoy the desserts. You can also enjoy some amazing skyline views of Singapore from the main dining hall at the Waku Ghin.

 

Even though a meal at the Waku Ghin is a bit expensive, the 10-course degustation menu is worth of every money spent. If you want to spend some memorable occasions or a want to have some romantic dinner, then the Waku Ghin can be a great choice.  At the private cocoons, since the chef is cooking right in front of you, he will be also willing to answer all your culinary queries.

Q In the Kitchen

Chef Tetsuya Wakuda was born in a small town of Hamamatsu in Japan. In 1982, Tetsuya at the age of 22 with only a little knowledge of English entered the land of Australia with just a small luggage but huge love for food. Started as a kitchen hand, he slowly started to learn the nuances of cooking and in 1989 opened “Tetsuya’s”, his first restaurant. With the delicate cuisine with a touch of Japanese flavors gained popularity among the people and the business started to flourish.

In 2000, Tetsuya’s moved on to a much larger space and from there on there was no looking back for Chef Tetsuya. He is considered to be one of the finest chefs in Australia and when he moved on to Singapore in 2010, he started to gain lots of acclaim for Waku Ghin.
