Pearl Dragon is like a sister hotel to the Jade Dragon in Macau. While the former Jade Dragon is located at the City of Dreams Casino complex, the Pearl Dragon is located at the Star Tower in the Studio complex. The Michelin Starred Chinese restaurant offers guests with some of the best Chinese cuisine created by Master Chef Lam Yuk Ming. Once you enter the Pearl Dragon, the first thing you see is the large wine cellar and walking through a long corridor leads you to the dining room filled with pale green and silver accent throughout the room.
The Pearl dragon also comes with 9 private rooms as dining in private is a tradition amongst the Chinese. All private dining rooms are filled with pearls here and there along with some lavish décor providing for a wonderful dining experience.
Even the Pearl Dragon is not much lavish and opulent when compared with the Jade Dragon, still you won’t be disappointed walking into the Pearl Dragon. Maybe you can feel the difference if you have already been to Jade Dragon and expect the same here.
It is the same Chef Tam Kwok-Fung who oversees the menu at the Pearl Dragon too and the menu covers some exquisite Cantonese and traditional Chinese cuisine with a modern touch. If you visiting Pearl Dragon, then a must-try dish is the lychee wood-roasted goose and the Braised seasonal vegetables with kuzukiri noodles.
Chef Tam Kwok Fung is very passionate when it comes to cooking and he loves to innovate and create new recipes all the time. And you can see that his passion could be largely seen being expressed in the kitchen. From the careful selection of seasonal ingredients to creating innovative recipes and presenting it beautifully you can see why Chef Tam Kwok Fung is one of the celebrated chefs in the world.
Chef Tam is also much more interested in the connection between the Chinese food and the Chinese herbals and hence does a lot of research on the healing properties of these herbals. He also works with Chinese medicine researchers at the Macau University of Science and Technology on these healing herbals and that knowledge had largely helped in creating the tonic soup menu.
Chef Tam’s menu is largely based on the Southern and Northern cuisine made using seasonal ingredients and provides a great nutritional value. The success of the Jade Dragon restaurant can largely be attributed to the exquisite cuisine delivered by Chef Tam and his team.
