La Yeon means Celebration in Korean and the restaurant is located on the 23rd floor of the Shilla Hotel in Seoul. Open in 2103, La Yeon offers spectacular views of the city along with beautiful Namsam Park. Similar to the preparation of the Kaiseki menu, Chef Sung il Kim prepares his Korean cuisine offering dishes in different styles, but still rice as the main savory course.
The dining room is pretty spacious with tables neatly spread out with clean white tablecloths. You can choose between two tasting menus, one with a limited dishes and the other with a longer list, but a bit pricey. You can also mix and match dishes among these two menus according to your taste. The wine list offered at the La Yeon is pretty awesome with a huge variety of wines sourced from France and around the world.

The 3-Michelin Star restaurant mainly focuses on providing high-quality Korean cuisine that envisages the importance of the traditional Korean culture and cuisine. The service was excellent as all the sommelier are well-trained and have a huge knowledge about what they serve and also explain them in crisp English.
