DIOR

Christian Dior 2018

The year 2018 has brought with itself a lot of awareness and with it a newly inspired feminism. This was taken up by Dior too, where the 2018 spring couture collection spoke feminism throughout. From white ottoman bar-jacketed suits to a black tuxedo paired with a dramatic cloak, and variety of dresses from a cloudy ecru chiffon dress to a black and white curved optical printed gown, Dior performed to the fullest to exhibit surrealism.

BURBERRY

PRADA

Prada 2018

Being one of the most palatial and lavish brands and holding a net worth of 9.4 billion dollars, Miuccia Prada’s brainchild is a fashion house that originated from Milan. This elitist footwear and handbag designer has paved its way to the runways extravagantly.

The designer mentioned that her 2018 spring collection was “interested in someone, who can be active and present today.” The collection was feisty and mature with big overcoats, pushed up sleeves, oversized jackets and mash-ups of animal prints.

GUCCI

Gucci 2018

This philanthropic brand has to its name indulgent fame and a net worth of 7 billion dollars. Being known for its luxurious leather goods and crafts, this brand makes donations to UNICEF regularly. The 2018 fall collection was inspired by the designer’s mental process. Wanting to exhibit the cores of his brain, and the processes that run through his head, models were made to walk the ramp in a Frankenstein like scene. The collection harbored Russian Babushka headscarves, pagoda hats and Scottish plaid and Fair Isle sweaters.

Creative Director Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen showcased some extraordinary collection inspired from the utopian evolution. The collection ranged from tuxedos to beautiful gowns and most of the designs were influenced by nature. The collection drew a lot of attraction from the audience as it featured some innovative designs with some impeccable tailoring and exquisite craftsmanship. Sarah Burton continues to amaze everyone with her feminine touch with bold prints. Most of them got a feeling that the Fall/Winter collection truly captured the world of Alexander McQueen.

The late British fashion designer, late Alexander McQueen was truly a genius when it comes to designing and is widely known to thrill the audience with models on the runway adorning some unusual design concept. It was also considered very much hard even to replicate those designs as so much thought and craftsmanship were behind each and every design. And since Sarah Burton took over the brand, she has worked really hard to take the fashion house to some new heights and still keeping up with the legacy. And it was proud moment for the fashion house, when Sarah Burton to design the wedding dress for the Duchess of Cambridge. Sarah Burton was also named in the “Time 100” most influential people in 2012.

For the Fall/Winter 2018 collection, Sarah Burton wanted to showcase feminine power with her designs. When most of the designers came with designs that largely concentrated on providing protecting suits and blankets like dresses, Sarah Burton also didn’t deviate much and were much in line with the prophecy of McQueen’s vision. Some of he designed also displayed a mix of both strength and the weakness of women like the butterfly-wing prints combined with bondage leather.

The McQueen show started enthralling the audience with a line of modest suits that featured wide shoulders and large sleeves. Some suits came with a fitted waist and some came attached with designer scarfs. The collection also featured a mix of corset belts and buttery-soft skirts attached with leather halters.

The catch of the evening was the designs that resembled beautiful butterfly wings that were brilliantly draped into monochrome dresses. Another great moment that created a lot of buzz among the audience is the cape that was handsomely transformed the print into a thick fringe and the sprouting feathers with full fringes. And when it comes to designing fringes the McQueen’s were always the No1 designer in the world. Overall, the Fall/Winter 2018 collection was a major success for the Alexander McQueen and also for Sarah Burton for perfectly balancing the strengths and weakness, the soft and hard sides to showcase the dualities of womanhood.
