The all-new Marine Chronograph 5527 launched by Breguet is an excellent addition to the Marine collection and truly stands as one of the best watches in the collection with a sporty outlook.

The Marine Chronograph 5527 named after the famous French army watchmaker, Abraham Louis Breguet combined traditional watchmaking process with innovative technical solutions to create an exquisite masterpiece. The 5527 is available in 3 variants with variations in the case including 18K white gold, titanium and 18k pink gold and also the dial is available in three colors in deep blue, brown and white respectively.

The overall outlook is mainly dominated by the matt brushed surface and the bezel comes striking with mirror polished look. As the name suggests, the center is designed in a wave pattern blue color dial largely complements this wave pattern. Powered by caliber 582QA which was built completely in-house and when it was fully wound the watch can stay powered for almost 48 hours. Another interesting aspect of the 5527 is the chronograph functionality as the hour display is provided in the bottom, whereas the seconds to the left and the minutes to the right. The chronograph movement alone is made using a whopping 346 parts. You can also choose between rubber straps or alligator leather straps.

Patek Philippe 5513R is the first of a kind World Time Minute Repeater watch that can chime the local time of all the 24 reference time zones. Introduced in 2017 at the Art of Watches Grand exhibition in New York, the 5531R has silenced its critics with this special edition watch. It is an extremely limited edition series as only ten watches were made during the launch. And the initial edition watches showcased the beautiful Manhattan skyline during day and night. And the recent editions shows the amazing Lavaux vineyard terraces situated on the lovely shores of the Lake Geneva.

Even though there were many watches that were made earlier with minute repeaters, but none had the world time complications like the 5531R. In traditional time minute repeaters, the hour snail is not moved by the hour handles motion, but through a 12 pointed star wheel that advanced every tooth per hour based on the movement of the minute snail. And here the minute snail is driven directly through the motion works. It reflects the fact that in traditional repeaters that provide world time doesn’t provide you with the option to change the position of the hour snail based on the change in the time zone. This is where the Patek Philippe 5531R comes on top as the hour snail is moved based on the time zone wheel and hence allowing you to adjust the hour snail.

During the launch in 2007, Rolex unveiled two variants in yellow gold and white gold. And the new version comes with a completely new manufacture caliber 4160.

The Yacht master II features a Rolex Oyster case and is water resistant for upto 100m and the case is equipped with a Triplock crown. And surprisingly you don’t need to screw down to reset or push the chronograph despite having a Triplock crown. The watch comes with a Cerachrom bezel in a striking blue shade and features the countdown numbers 0-10 in large Arabic numerals. Even though the name is displayed largely at the bottom, it still fits into the overall outlook of the watch.

Watch collectors have in common a secret desire to vintage models and the Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox will certainly be added to their list. To celebrate their 50 years of successful business, Jaeger-LeCoultre has come up with the Polaris Memovox, a stunning recreation of the classic Polaris watch from 1968. Even though the Polaris collection contains various models, what makes the Memovox stand out among the others is that it stays true to its original version in terms of design. And the anniversary has been beautifully engraved in the back of the watch. The markers kind of vanilla colors add to the vintage theme of the watch. This limited edition (1000 pieces) certainly is one of the best recreation of the Original Polaris with its three-finish black dial, 3 crown design along with an automatic alarm movement and rotating bezel inside.

Even though the specifications say the watch is 42 mm in diameter, it seems to be much bigger than that when you wear it on the wrist. Maybe since the bezel is not so prominent, the dial seems to appear bigger. The watch is incredibly thick adding to the bulk design. But the best thing about the Memovox is that the crowns are situated nicely so that you can easily access them. All the crowns have the JL logo engraved on top of it and every crown come with its own functions like to set the alarm, adjust the time and date along with changing the inner diving bezel.

JLC has also a modern touch to the Memovox as the 3 crowns and case have been specially made in house in the JLC workshops unlike the cases that were acquired in 1960s model. Also, the Arabic numerals were not printed like the original version, but they were applied and the dial also comes with a combination of colors including matte black and sunray finish. The Polaris Memovox comes with another interesting feature, the mechanical alarm function that can be set using a special crown situated on the top. All you need to do is wind the spring of the top crown to stop the alarm. And to set the alarm, you need to pull out the crown, change the date by turning the crown upwards and the set the alarm time by turning it upwards. Or simple you can pull the crown out and move the small triangle in anti-clockwise direction and stop at the desired time. There is also date display located in the 3^rd hour.

Overall, the Polaris Memovox is truly a masterpiece and definitely one the best in the Polaris line of watches. But it is a shame that they only 1000 of these classic watches and people who get the chance to wear these vintage beauties are certainly lucky. There is not much on the downside, except for the large size and thickness of the watch.
